"Life coaching is not about telling you what to do, it's about guiding you to discover your own answers, unlocking your full potential, and helping you create a life that aligns with your values and passions."
Consider myself a connector of people, a mediator, a thought partner, and a companion.
My name is Ameera Sullivan, and I am not your average professional. I am multifaceted and consider myself a connector of people, a mediator, a thought partner, and a companion. As a Life Coach, I wish to help my clients improve their quality of life by addressing common social anxieties around the need to compartmentalize who you are to meet the needs of others.
While practicing therapy I worked with clients on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, and interpersonal relationships. A common theme amongst my clients was broken support systems and low self-worth which can negatively impact other areas of your life.
Throughout the years, I learned that some people need a thought partner to help put situations into perspective and provide support. I am a firm believer in the power of self-love and accountability.
I used to find myself in situations where I thought I had to prove my worth to others. My childhood wasn’t the best due to family issues, including mental health, addiction, and foster care, but in hindsight, I’ve learned to appreciate what I did have. I became a mother at fourteen, so to some, it appeared that I was unloved and unsupervised and had thrown my life away. As a young mother, I worked extra hard to prove I was still worthy of a good life. There was no time for self-pity or doubts because I refused to be “just another teen pregnancy statistic.” Even as an adult in the workplace, I felt the need to prove myself due to my age, but at some point, I learned to accept all that I have been through by embracing the awesome person I turned out to be. I began to love myself out loud, which was the best decision for my personal development.
The journey of self-love and acceptance will require patience and dedication to doing the internal work. You will need to be open to having tough conversations with yourself and others and being held accountable to show up for you today. I want you to know that showing up for yourself can be hard when juggling daily responsibilities, so schedule your free consultation to determine which NYAP service is right for you.
